TUBING

EEFISA manufactures ducts, pipes and fittings made of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) in dimensions from 1 "to 162" in diameter. Here is a list of the most common parts:

The pipe is used to conduct liquids, from water to highly corrosive products.

 

The standardized diameters are measured in inches: 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 60, 72, 84, 96 , 108, 120, 132, 144, 160 and 164 and are made in lengths of 6 meters in length.

Pipes and connections can be supplied in smooth ends for butt joints with over-laminate or flanged ends.

 

In the case of butt joints with over-laminate, EFISA can provide this service or supply the materials (resin, catalyst and fiberglass) for the customer to assembly.

 

 When flanged joints are chosen, the assembly is made using screws and gaskets.

 
The most common practice is to make butt joints in long pipe length installations and to combine them with flanged joints where piping and connections are joined to other equipment or valves, pumps, etc.

SUPPORT

 

It can be done continuously on the floor, on a firm and smooth surface within a trench typical of any of the following types: straight pit, slop pit, slope embankment or mixed. By means of a rack of continuous support that surface must be firm and smooth. It can also be supported by any of the following additions: roller, clamp, fork, half cane or bracket.

 

The maximum distance between supports depends on the diameter and thickness of the tube, as well as the density and temperature of the fluid. The compensation of the expansion of the pipes by the effect of the temperature, should be made using flexible joints.

 

 

FLANGES JOINTS

At points where piping is connected to equipment (tanks, pumps, valves, etc.) or in very long pipe lengths, flanged joints must be fitted for the ease of the operation.

 

Flange dimensions, except flange face thickness and hardware, correspond to ANSI B16.5 standards for 150 PSI. To attach the pairs of flanges we recommend that an elastomer gasket of at least 5 mm thick, with a hardness between 60 and 80 Shore A, be placed; this package should be smooth and full face (FF).

 

Hexagon head bolts, with double flat washer (on both sides of the FRP flange) must be used, if required, washer and hex nut. The screw must be lubricated beforehand. The adjustment of the nuts must be done by hand and in a gentle manner; Using a torque wrench not exceeding 14 N-m (10 lb-ft).


DUCTWORK

 

The ducts are used to conduct gases and vapors, operating pressure from 25 to 150 PSI, diameters from 2” to 162". They are manufactured by the filament wound system according to standards ASTM D2996-00, API STD 5LR and ANSI / AWWA C950-95.

 

 

The circular shaped ducts are more economical and reliable than those of rectangular shape and can be assembled by butt joining with over laminate or flanges..

Pipes, ductwork and fittings (connections) can be made from polyester or vinyl ester resins, as well as thermoplastic liners such as PVC, PP and PVDF, depending on the level of corrosion of the fluid to be conducted.
